Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect during my first session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll discuss your background, the challenges you're facing, and your goals for therapy. It's a safe space for you to share your thoughts and feelings.
How long are therapy sessions?
Typically, therapy sessions last about 50 minutes. This allows us to dive deep into your concerns while also giving you time to process and reflect on our discussions.
Some trauma sessions are recommended 90 minutes in order to go deeper with the trauma and have time to recover before ending.
How often should I attend therapy?
To establish a strong therapeutic rapport and lay the groundwork for meaningful progress, I recommend attending therapy 3 to 4 sessions weekly initially.
After this period, the frequency can be tailored to fit your availability, time, and financial considerations, often transitioning to bi-weekly sessions.
What types of therapy do you offer?
We specialize in trauma therapy, experiential therapy, intensives and adventure therapy. Each approach is tailored to help you address anxiety, depression, and trauma in a way that resonates with you.
Is therapy confidential?
Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our practice. What you share in therapy stays between us, with a few legal exceptions that we will discuss if they arise.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling with emotional pain, therapy can be a valuable resource. It's a personal decision, and we're here to support you in exploring it.
